ABOUT SPAIN

My home for several months, located in the south of Europe is one of my favorite countries -- Spain. One of my favorite cultural events I got to witness was the flamenco (naturally). There is a plethora of archaeological sites and UNESCO World Heritage Sites that were left behind by Islamic rulers, which make for some of the most beautiful pieces of architecture I have yet to lay eyes upon. During my semester abroad I was able to visit diverse cities all over Spain, which I am ecstatic to share with you all. Spain is a historical powerhouse of the world, and it is nearly impossible to be bored while visiting this captivating country.

Travel Tips - Spain

Lodging

I was fortunate enough to get to stay with my incredible host mom, Jacqueline, during most of my time in Spain centered in Granada. While my other bookings were handled completely by my study abroad agency, I would recommend using Airbnb, Expedia, and or Hostelworld for booking your accommodation in Spain.

Transportation

I found the transportation in Spain to be incredibly intuitive. There are various bus systems you can use, Uber in selective cities, and intercity flights you can book via Skyscanner and or Google Flights. I can’t tell you how many times I hopped on a bus to travel between cities during my time studying abroad. For your transportation in and around Spain, I recommend Rome2Rio and or Omio.
