ABOUT MALTA
Malta was certainly one of the more unorthodox countries that I visited in Europe. On a whim in search of adventures against the mainstream, my friend and I decided to visit Malta for a few days. We accidentally stayed in St. Paul's Bay, which is not a tourist area per se, but still found the coast accompanied by dazzling sapphire blue waters to be worth a visit! Malta is a great country to slow down, relax, and indulge in boat tours. This island is not one for avid beach swimmers, though, I will caution you! While the water looked exquisite and refreshing, there were thousands of jellyfish in all the areas we explored. Malta was an extremely picturesque country, and I mostly enjoyed our visit to this European island.

Travel Tips - Malta
Lodging
My friend and I stayed at the Bora Bora Ibiza Malta Resort which was such an interesting stay! Truthfully, this stay was ~luxurious~ and we loved our room. For how incredible our room was, the culture of the guests at this establishment was party central! There were teenagers everywhere who clubbed at the on-site disco bar and so we felt a little out of place as mid-twenty-year-olds. With that said, the location was within walking distance to the piers and coast which was fantastic. I would definitely stay at this location again just because of how nice the rooms were. Overall, I would recommend the Bora Bora Ibiza Malta Resort!
Transportation
While we did not travel around the island at all, we used Uber to get from the airport to our hotel. The driving was absolutely insane, I will tell you that much! The island is rather small, and we didn’t do any touring on the island outside of St. Paul's Bay. For island hopping around Malta, we did tours to get around which worked like a charm!
Activities
Although we were only in Malta for a short amount of time, there was still plenty to do! Here are some of our favorites:
-
Explore the Blue Lagoon
-
Visit the historical island of Gozo
-
Indulge in the variety of cuisine
