JAMAICA

ABOUT JAMAICA
Jamaica is an extremely popular tourist destination for people all around the globe — and for a good reason! I was lucky enough to attend a destination wedding in Jamaica in June of 2022 for a family member and it was a celebration straight out of a romance movie. In Jamaica, there is endless beach, and you can stay at breathtaking resorts while relaxing in luxury. My top tips for traveling to Jamaica are first, in light of climate change and the extreme weather patterns being experienced around the globe, I would suggest visiting during the non-hurricane season. Additionally, make the most out of your adventure and book some excursions!\
While the resorts are beautiful and you could lose yourself in all things all-exclusive, the island has so much to offer, and you’ll miss out by only staying at the resort! Escape to this tropical paradise for a transformative getaway.
Travel Tips - Jamaica
Lodging
Our family wedding was hosted at the Moon Palace – Jamaica resort and we all stayed at the resort. We all greatly enjoyed our stay and took advantage of all the resort had to offer — from eating various types of cuisine to riding bikes around in the ocean right off the property. With beach access, we spent most of our time frolicking along the beach and soaking up the sun. The event planner chosen for the wedding took care of mostly everything for us, from transportation to and from the airport to even the excursions we did off the property! I would highly recommend this resort for family-friendly adventures. If you are looking for a more romantic, “adult” getaway, I would recommend looking elsewhere for lodging.
Transportation
Obviously, to get from the United States to any region of Jamaica you most likely are going to need to take a flight. Depending on where you are flying from, it can range from 2 hours to 12 hours (flying from the western U.S. is a pain — I won’t lie). My favorite way to look for flights is through incognito mode on Google Flights. I would encourage you to check in with your hotel to arrange further transportation.
Activities
There is no shortage of incredible things to do in Jamaica but here are some of our favorites:
