ABOUT FRANCE

A country filled with elegance, history, and culture, France has a diverse landscape of lush green pastures, an expansive coastline, and the city of love. Vineyards and castles paint the landscape, with exotic contemporary graffiti in alleyways. When staying in Paris, I would highly recommend a visit to the Latin Quarter, Île de la Cité, and Montmartre. Attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the like obviously are worth a visit, but there is so much more to the city than what you've seen in movies and on postcards. France has so much to offer, you can hardly go wrong with a visit to any region!

Travel Tips - France

Lodging

The first time I traveled to Paris, I stayed booked my stay through Hostel World at Caulaincourt Montmartre by Hiphophostels. This hostel is a great budget stay and a wonderful way to meet fellow travelers! I really didn’t mind this stay and loved to location within the Montmartre district. They have an included breakfast (or they did at least when I went) and had very friendly staff. Overall, I would recommend this stay for solo budget travelers.

For the second time I traveled to Paris more recently, we stayed within the Montmartre district at an AirBnb with Be You. This was a very interesting stay to say the least! There was renovation when we stayed, so there was quite a bit of disruptions throughout the day and night which was not ideal. For our purposes, it worked well, and we had a decent stay!

Transportation

As with all the navigation around Europe, planes, trains, and buses are a great way to get around. I booked most of my trains with Omio, which is a fantastic platform for European transportation. Eurail is also a great decision, too! Skyscanner is a great application for finding cheap flights, as well as Google Flights. Within the city, Uber is a great platform for navigation.
